WordPress 3.8.1 has released today with more than 31 bug fixes. Developers at WordPress are now seeding the update files and the blogs with automatic updates enabled would have got the update.
As per a blog entry by Andrew Nacin on the WordPress.org blog, Version 3.8.1 is a maintenance release covering various fixes and improvements to 3.8. A standout amongst the most prominent fixes was switching Twitter oEmbed to SSL. Twitter updated its API, which broke Twitter oEmbed connections over all WordPress sites. Some of the other fixes are:
- WP_Query fixes
- Themes screen fixes and improvements
- Fixes for the new dashboard design
- Responsive admin fixes
- The new dashboard widgets
